The Consumer Staples Sector comprises companies whose businesses are less sensitive to economic cycles. It includes manufacturers and distributors of food, beverages and tobacco and producers of non-durable household goods and personal products.

Overall, we believe the macroeconomic outlook for the sector is positive. However, as with almost all other sectors, many of the valuation indicators are still above their historical averages.

In 2022, rising input costs may continue to be a key concern; companies with high gross profit margins and the ability to increase prices will be the winners in this sector
